This is the final version of my previous drawing of The Captain. My dear 
encouraged me to add a background, and I strived to do so. Hopefully this makes the picture even better.

I don't know who he is, but he looks cool. 
You should do more backgrounds! The background here makes your drawing look more refined and complete, if that makes any sense. (Says the girl who wouldn't draw them if you paid her.)
One thing, though, to keep in mind when doing future backgrounds: how about a bit more detail? Obviously, you shouldn't add detail to the point where it actually detracts from the foreground - but I think a bit more wouldn't hurt.
